Freight Line Assembler - Shipping Dept

Summary: 
Stacks boxes to prepare for shipping, occasionally label cases and prepare slip sheets for proper loading according to shipping instructions.
Essential Functions: 
  • Occasionally affix shipping label to prepack cases, stack labeled cases onto conveyor belt, and slip sheets and/or pallets.
  • Build slips sheets to appropriate specifications for loading onto truck.
  • Scan slip sheets to truck as needed.
  • Reports any shortages to Lead or Supervisor.
  • Pallet jacks will be used continuously throughout the day to move material.
  • Ability to move inventory into staging area with pallet jack.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience: 
No prior experience or training.  Ability to identify labels, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Physical Demands: 
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Bending is required.  The employee frequently climbs stairs to different floor levels.  Ability to maneuver pallet jack loaded with up to 200 pounds.
