Coater Coordinator

Summary: 
Responsible for smooth running of the back of the coater.  Ensures that all material that is run through the coater meets specifications.
Essential Functions: 
  • Must be able to learn all jobs at the Coater.
  • Understand the compounding of latex, the mixing and blending of the latex and up weights.
  • Order latex components as needed.
  • Report abnormalities in the raw materials or the tufted product.
  • Fix knife, weigh rugs, and make sure that rugs are square at the light curtain and at slitter.
  • Check cure of latex, embossing roll pattern.
  • Check rug at embossing roller to ensure that rug is not folded over.
  • Check guides in oven and make sure rug is not running too close to either wall inside oven.
  • Help set up slitter, speed up change.
  • Read specification sheets.
  • Able to perform all jobs at back of coater when vacancy occurs.
  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Give relief breaks to other employees.
  • Other duties required by job and management.
Education and/or Experience: 
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Computer experience is a plus.
Licenses/Certificates: 
Valid driver's license.  
Physical Demands: 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stoop.
  • Employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Employee must reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • The work environment is heated and cooled, but is exposed to heat and cold as influenced by seasonal temperatures.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
