Inspect/Mend Yardage

Summary: 
Inspects, identifies, and corrects tufting issues as it is produced on the machine by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions: 
  • Follows safe work practices and proper lifting procedures.
  • Inspects and mends yardage as it is tufted on machine.
  • Mends yardage using mending gun and scissors.
  • Pushes/pulls buggy of finished yardage to holding location.
  • Compares standard to rug that is being produced each style change.
  • Responsible for making sure excess rugs are kept out of the floor.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience: 
  • No prior experience or training.
  • Ability to read and understand specification sheets and machine set ups.
  • Ability to communicate with Tufting Operator to correct any defects immediately.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb catwalk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
  • The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee also occasionally pushes buggies weighing approx. 2500 lbs. (requires 2 people).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • The employee is regulary exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to elevated levels.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The work environment is air-conditioned.
