Load Freight/ Lift

Summary: 
Transports goods using forklift from staging area to appropriate locations and loads/unloads trailers.
Essential Functions: 
  • Locates the appropriate cases.
  • Operates forklift to transport goods to appropriate location.
  • Operates shrink wrap machine.
  • Transports shrink wrapped slip sheets as needed.
  • Loads and unloads goods to and from trailer.
  • Loads loose carpet by hand when needed.
  • Operate computer using AS400 programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience: 
  • No prior experience or training. 
  • Must have a Maples' Industrial Truck Operator's permit.
  • Must be able to identify labels, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Licenses/Certificates: 
  • Maples' Industrial Truck Operator's permit.
Physical Demands: 
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 
  • Occasional lifting and moving up to 40 pounds is required.
  • The employee may occasionally climb stairs to different floor levels and freqently gets on and off of forklift throughout the shift.
  • The work enviroment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee environment is heated, but is exposed to heat and cold as influenced by seasonal temperature extremes.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
