Stacker/Sew Line

Summary: 
Straightens, stacks or folds rugs onto a table, and stacks neatly into buggies or onto pallets, by performing the following duties on the sew line.
Essential Functions: 
  • Checks rugs for defects and returns to operator if necessary.
  • Straightens and stacks rugs as they come off the conveyor line, and moves stack to pallet.
  • Counts and records in English the number of rugs placed on the pallet or in buggies.
  • Counts and places rugs on table for the operator.
  • Records in English the accurate count onto ticket for the operator.
  • Straightens sewn rugs and records total units on pallet.
  • Attaches identifying labels to the pallets.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience: 
  • No prior experience or training.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print numbers in English and speak simple sentences.
Physical Demands: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, or rotate body.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when assigned to carpet sewing operations.  Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
