Tugger Driver

Summary: 
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within plant by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions: 
  • Uses computer, reads work order, or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Loads materials and/or buggies into trailers and/or trucks.
  • Installs strapping or chains to prevent shifting or damage while in transit.
  • Prints necessary labels and manifests.
  • Transports buggies from Yardage department or work sites to designated area.
  • Loads and unloads full or empty buggies.
  • Uses the computer to keep a current list of available buggies for the Coater Department.
  • Operates Industrial Lift and/or Tugger to assist in loading or moving materials for Yardage.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience: 
  • Prior experience or training needed to drive the Lift truck.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.
Licenses/Certificates: 
Must have a valid driver's license and obtain a Maples Industrial Truck Operator's permit.
Physical Demands: 
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to stoop, bend, and sit.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
