Creeler

Summary: 
  • Sets up creel racks by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions: 
Obtains creel orders from each machine to be creeled. Checks specification sheet and requests yarn from Receiving Clerk, to set up the following items:
  1. Removes cones and/or yarn from previous set up.
  2. Place cones of yarn on creel to match spec. sheet, or thread up sheet.
  3. Splice yarn in and repair breaks and hangs in creel.
  4. Replace yarn as it runs out.
  5. Always keep lots seperated.
  6. Use cone caps.
  7. Stack yarn into cages when taking off creel.
  8. Keep all lot numbers seperate when stacking into cages.
  9. Check all cones for lot numbers.
  10. Place cone caps on cap racks (not in bottom of buggy).
  11. Report to Lead Person when caught up with creel.
Check orders and prepare for next creel on machine. Responsible for cleaning area after splicing and sweeping aisles. Assist other tufting personnel as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.    
Education and/or Experience: 
  • No prior experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, specification yarn set up instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • The employee must frequently lift up to 20 pounds, and pushes and pulls buggies weighing approximately 200 lbs.
  • The employee also occasionally pushes buggies weighing appro. 2500 lbs. (this requires 2 people).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
